WEBSITE UPDATES FOR AN ONLINE SPORTS RETAILER

Wiggle is an online sports retailer, selling cycle, run, swim and outdoor gear. Working full time for the company for 5 years (2018-2023), collaborating with some big brands such as Apple, Garmin, Hoka, Asics, Salamon and many more. hawksdesign designed and developed brand webpages on the site, aligning with new product releases and key marketing campaigns.

Booststrap, HTML and CSS were used to develop the responsive web pages, alongside incorporating SEO techniques. In addition to creating website content, responsibilities encompassed various digital design tasks, such as crafting emails and designing badges and landing pages for Strava challenges.

Web Banners – Regularly designed and updated web banners to align with new product launches and key campaigns.

Brand Pages – Created landing pages for the core brands, allowing customers to easily navigate to specific product categories.

Lookbooks – Produced landing pages for key products, showcasing featuring in an interactive, visually-appealing way.

SEO – Ensured all webpages were build responsively and search engine optimised.

Strava Badges – Created badges for Strava’s virtual challenges and landing pages with discount for those that complete.

BESPOKE WORDPRESS WEBSITE FOR A NATURAL ANTI-CHAFING CREAM

Ocean Lube is a new brand so our mission was to launch their first website to help showcase their ocean friendly anti-chafing cream and its unique selling points. We developed the site using a custom WordPress theme with WooCommerce integration.

hawksdesign also manage the social channels for Ocean Lube (Facebook and Instagram). This involves on-going research of the swimming industry and Ocean Lube’s competitors to produce a post schedule, and capture the photos and videos to promote and engage the target audience.

Custom Theme Development – Designed and developed a custom site to showcase the product and its unique key selling points.

CSS Animation – Used keyframe animations to introduce subtle animations into the site.

Bulk Buy Discounts – Added bulk buy discount options, encouraging swimmers to team up to purchase in order to save on costs and delivery.

Social Media Management – Manage the Instagram and Facebook channels, connecting with customers, creating and posting content.

Print Designs – Created some half page print adverts to promote Ocean Lube in the Outdoor Swimmer magazine.

A NEW ADVENTURE TRAVEL BLOG!

Never quit the daydream is an adventure travel blog showcasing travel tips, guides and bucket list activities, with it’s purpose being to allow fellow travellers to spend less time planning and more time exploring! We developed the site using WordPress and Elementor, integrating SEO techniques to optimise the blog posts.

hawksdesign also manage the social channels for Never quit the daydream (Facebook and Instagram). This involves on-going research of the travel industry to produce a post schedule, and edit the photos and videos to promote and engage the target audience.

Branding – Designed the logo and developed branding guidelines for the new brand.

Photo Editing – Filter through all photography, reviewing which would work best within each blog post and making any photoshop edits if required .

Video Editing – Cull all the video footage, make short form videos for Instagram reels, using trending audios, relatable content and interesting hooks.

SEO – Ensure all posts are search engine optimised, being indexed by google and appearing in Google Search Console. Reviewing performances and keywords for improvements.

Social Media Management – Manage the Instagram and Facebook channels, connecting with customers, creating and posting content.

FULL WEBSITE REFRESH FOR A LOCAL SPORTS CLUB

This project involved refreshing a sports club’s existing site and adding new features. We restyled the whole site to make it more modern and added a WooCommerce shop. We also introduced a members area so when you register with the club, you can login to the site and view some exclusive promo codes.

Re-styled and modernised – A contemporary re-design of the whole site, ensuring it works well across all device types.

WooCommerce Store – Added some new merchandise to the site with the option to pay for postage or pick up in person.

Conditional Content – Introduced a members area, whereby if you have bought a membership you can view the exclusive discount codes from partners.

Blog Posts – Formatted the blogs with the set imagery and copy, and created categories to be able to filter the blog post.

EXISTING WEBSITE IMPROVEMENTS AND MOBILE OPTIMISATIONS

This short term project involved making improvements to an existing WordPress site for a baby clothing company. This included improving the navigation and categorisation of 300+ products, optimising the site for mobile, adding testimonials and tweaking the imagery and copy.

Mobile Optimisations – Combined the navigation as previously there were two separate burger bars. Simplified the mobile design, enabling the three key features to be displayed above the fold.

Product categorisation – Improved the categorisation of products so it’s quicker for customers to find what they’re after. Beforehand it was very difficult to find a particular product, so the categorisation and product filters helped to enhance customers experience on the site.

Testimonials – Added a selection of reviews to the homepage to help build customer trust, and to further promote the brand and its product.

Social Media Setup – Assisted with setting up social media channels (Facebook and Instagram) and provided any help as and when required.
